Transponder quick reference guide

The purpose of the table is to provide a quick reference guide so you can know if a key is "clonable" or not (this is for use on the bench, in this example we are assuming the customer has an original key present).

warning-icon This is not designed to be an exhaustive list. This list does not show profiles etc.

The idea is that when a customer comes into your shop to get a duplicate key, you can ID the chip in the original key, and can then use the chart to determine the appropriate blank chip/key where available.

Transponder quick reference chart notes.

*For ID40 (Holden), check the year range carefully. Cars made 1998/99/2000 have clonable keys.
** For ID4W (VW), test the key in the RW4, it will tell you if it can be cloned or not.
*** For ID46 (Philips CR2) you will need the P-Box Accessory Kit for the RW4
^ For ID66 copying, MH (multi-head) or new generation (Yellow) EH2 must be used

Additional transponder rules to remember.

Rule#1 - All Texas and Texas Crypto transponders MUST be cloned an MH or EH2* (Texas crypto chips ID within a range of 60 to 69)
Rule#2 - All Fixed code transponders (excluding Texas, see first rule) can be cloned to a T5
Rule#3 - Megamos Crypto and Temic Crypto CAN NOT be cloned at this time**

*Check the Silca transponder quick reference chart above for vehicles using Texas chips that can be cloned.
** True as of this time. RW4 firmware 1.0.037.
